Re: Chicago – Depaul Art Museum and current exhibitions

Re: Chicago, the inaugural exhibit of the reopening of the Depaul Art Museum was a spectacular accumulation of Chicago’s artists who are up and coming, have celebrity status, and who use to be. Some 40 Chicago artists each chosen from Chicago’s many influential art world mentors were included in the exhibit. Peruse through the gallery and see some of the best art from Chicago’s best.

The DePaul Art Museum will reopen  it’s doors on March 29th 2012 for three brand new exhibits, Andy Warhol Photographs, Stuido Malick, and The Body and Art: The African Sculpture from the Permanent Collection.  The African sculpture exhibit will feature the celebration of the human body through the physical and metaphorical entities. Lastly, Studio Malick is a collection of photographs from the 1960s Mali, West African region. After receiving freedom from France, the African country and its younger generation felt a more liberal society emerging which emanating from the photographs subjects of  music, fashion, and dancing.

The art museum is always free and is open Monday through Thursday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday/ Sunday 12 pm. to 5 p.m.
