Hyde Park Art Center’s Newest Interactive Experience!

01-SouthEventSpace-Children-FinalThis month marks the newest art interactive experience at the Hyde Park Art Center. To celebrate the opening of the Guida Family Creative Wing the art center will host it’s annual gala with drinks, dancing, and if inspiration hits you while attending the event; artists will be “on hand” to help you out!

Although most of us would love to attend the Gala you can purchase tickets to the After-Gala Party for $60.00 to help with future programs. The after party begins at 8:30 pm with light refreshments and an open bar and ends at 11:00 pm.

The new creative wing will house ten private and shared artist’s studios open to the public during special events and classes. The creative wing will build an organic relationship through the community and the Art Center that will become a cross-disciplinary collaboration and spark interest for audiences to become a part of the artists’ working process. Artist and audience alike will immerse themselves in the discussion of creativity and the actual making of art. Also included will be a teen learning center, flexible learning environments for youth and adults, and a digital lab.

Spearheading the architecture of the new creative wing is architect, Grant Gibson who helped with the original design of the art center itself under previous architect, Doug Garofalo. As part of the original design team, Gibson understands the need for art and artists to be accessible to the public as well as taking the art of the art center into a more technological and experimental phase. The future of the Hyde Park Art Center is built and waiting for new students, art lovers, and artists to claim their piece of it.
